Why book direct instead of Airbnb or VRBO?
Same villa, same family hosts — without the 12–17% platform service fees. You also get direct communication with us before, during, and after your stay, plus flexibility the platforms don't allow (custom quotes, longer stays, early requests).
Do I really need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle?
Yes. St. John's roads are steep and it's part of the adventure. Reserve a Jeep early — island rentals book out months ahead in high season. We're happy to recommend rental companies.
How do I get to St. John?
Fly into St. Thomas (STT), then taxi to either the Red Hook or Crown Bay ferry — our preferred driver, Junior Miller of JS Miller Taxi and Tours, offers guaranteed pickups: (404) 580-9394. The ferry to Cruz Bay takes about 20 minutes. Pick up your rental Jeep in Cruz Bay — where you'll also have our dedicated secure villa parking spot, a minute's walk from the ferry. Is the villa really fully private?
Completely. No shared walls, no shared pool, no other guests. It's just you, the villa, and the view.
What happens if WAPA (the island power grid) goes out?
It won't affect you. WAPA outages are a fact of life on St. John, but the villa runs on solar with three Tesla Powerwalls — so you keep AC, WiFi, and lights running without interruption, even when the rest of the island goes dark.
Can kids stay?
Children 8 and up are welcome. Max occupancy is 4 guests.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes — a 7-night minimum applies across all 2026 seasons. It's the right length anyway: give yourself a full week and the island will still feel too short.
